At Unity Center of Dance, we believe Ballet provides dancers with a profound foundation in both physical and mental discipline, essential for their development and performance. Beyond the physical benefits, ballet instills a deep sense of focus and perseverance, teaching dancers to push their limits and overcome challenges. The art form also cultivates an understanding of body alignment and spatial awareness, which translates to improved technique and reduced risk of injury.
Unity Center of Dance offers ballet training from age 2-adult and implements evaluations once dancers move past level 1. We know each student is different and learns at their own pace. Therefore, dancers must pass their evaluation before moving to the next level. Instructors are highly trained and will always have the student's best interest and injury prevention in mind. Each class will also adhere to color-coded leotards and a dress code. Holding to our dress code instills professionalism and allows instructors and students themselves to easily observe and correct technique and alignment

Hip-hop, Acro, and Tap dance each bring a distinct and vibrant energy to the world of dance, offering a diverse range of movement and expression. Hip-Hop, with its roots in street culture, is characterized by its dynamic, rhythmic moves and creative self-expression. Acro dance combines the artistry of dance with the strength and agility of gymnastics, creating visually impressive tumbling, tricks, and contortions. Tap dance, known for its percussive footwork, brings a rhythmic and musical quality to the stage, with each step producing a distinct, intricate sound. Together, these styles provide a rich tapestry of rhythm, athleticism, and creativity, allowing dancers to explore a wide spectrum of movement and performance techniques. Instructors for these classes are highly trained and while encourage our students to always push themselves, believe safety over forcing skills. For our Acro classes, all instructors will be Acrobatic Arts certified or in the process of being certified and use their curriculum. Choreography composition, history of dance, and stretch and flexibility are fundamental components of a comprehensive dance education. Choreography composition involves the creative process of crafting dance routines, where dancers learn to blend movement, rhythm, and expression into compelling performances. Understanding the history of dance provides valuable context, revealing how different styles and techniques have evolved over time and influencing contemporary practices. Meanwhile, stretch and flexibility training is crucial for enhancing a dancer’s physical capabilities, allowing for greater range of motion and injury prevention. Together, these elements foster a well-rounded dancer who not only excels in creating and performing but also appreciates the rich heritage of the art form and maintains the physical readiness required for exceptional performance.
